The visitors gain access to a high-Alpine wonderland of ice, snow and rock, which they can admire from the viewing platforms on the Aletsch Glacier or in the Ice Palace.
The railway journey to the Jungfraujoch is an experience which leads through the Eiger and the Mönch. At the Eismeer and Eigerwand intermediate stations, visitors can enjoy the wonderful view.
We are inside Jungfraufirn.
20 metres below the viewing platform, at Europe's watershed, ice masses build up that are slowly moving towards the north until the water flows into the North Sea once again. In the 1930s, two guides began carving this huge hall from the glacier ice.
The 1,000 square metre area which opens before us was done by hand with an ice axe and saw. The cave must be artificially cooled to minus three degrees and the vaulted ceilings and arches of the corridors are regularly rehewn.
Alpine Sensation is a 250-metre long adventure tour.
This tour creates a direct connection from the Sphinx Hall to the Ice Palace. A special highlight are the experience alcoves, in which the development of tourism in the Alps and the history of the Jungfrau Railway are displayed.
In single sensory images with lights and music, the adventure tour tells about tourism past and present in the Jungfrau Region from Adolf Guyer-Zeller's great idea to the extreme efforts required to construct the Jungfrau Railway.
From the Sphinx Hall, you reach the building with the fastest ski lift in Switzerland within 25 seconds. The glass Sphinx observation hall provides a view of the glaciers in any weather. The Aletsch glacier is directly at the foot of this observation platform. At 22km in length, the longest glacier in the Alps also belongs to the Alpine UNESCO World Heritage Site. The terrace also provides a 360-degree panoramic view overlooking the neighbouring countries of France, Germany and Italy.
Crazy but no mission impossible - Winter activities in summer! There are a ski lift and numerous other possibilities for adventure on offer. You can go sledging, skiing or snowboarding in the Snow Fun Park on the Jungfraujoch (not included in the train ticket).
Dive into the fascinating world of chocolate. Visit the Lindt Swiss Chocolate Heaven. Its production and history are impressively displayed in this unique chocolate experience world at the Jungfraujoch. From cocoa extraction to the production of the world-famous Lindor truffle - it's all found there. There is even a virtual Lindt Maître de Chocolatier on location to show you how a chocolate bar is created.
